DEA(R)

DEA(R2) Student Treadmill Desk was a design exploration project to give students in public schools an affordable treadmill desk they could use while doing DEAR time (drop everything and read). According to research, New York State mandates that students in grades K-6 must have at least 120 minutes of physical education a week but more than 20% of New York City schools do not meet that guideline; many citing lack of space, lack of time, and lack of funds. This desk would allow students to multitask reading while exercising.

I designed the treadmill desk on Sketchup and rendered it to scale on a 3D printer. I also created collateral that could be used by students and teachers while using the desks.
